  • Sanbit Chatterjee is a post-graduate fellow in Population Studies at the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai, driven by a deep curiosity about how people live, move, age, and organise their lives. His academic interests span fertility transitions, gender and family demography, mortality differentials, migration, urbanisation, and political demography. He has also qualified UGC NET for Assistant Professor in Population Studies (December 2025).

    With an earlier academic foundation in Geography, he brings strong spatial thinking and proficiency in GIS tools to his demographic research. He is skilled in statistical software and is developing expertise in mixed-method research approaches, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis.

    He is currently serving as a Research & Policy Intern at Pravasi Setu Foundation, where he contributes to research, literature review, policy analysis, and documentation of Indian diaspora experiences, supporting the Foundation’s work in migration and diaspora studies.
