Himanshi Bansal is a dedicated Research Associate at Pravasi Setu Foundation, with a keen focus on the intersection of the gig economy and migration in India. Currently pursuing her M.A. in Development Studies (Economics) at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi, she brings a strong foundation in economic research, data analysis, and policy exploration to her role. Himanshi’s academic work, including her master’s thesis on how the gig economy shapes traditional business hubs, reflects her analytical approach to understanding how evolving work models influence migratory trends and livelihood opportunities.
With hands-on experience in both research and fieldwork—spanning projects on road transport policy, urban development, and grassroots teaching initiatives—Himanshi explores how migration patterns and the expansion of gig work reciprocally shape each other, particularly within India’s rapidly transforming economy. At Pravasi Setu Foundation, she contributes research insights, data-driven analysis, and thought leadership on the ways in which the gig economy opens new pathways for migrants, while also addressing the challenges and policy gaps that arise at this dynamic intersection.
