Dilip Kumar Giri is the Founder and President of the Girmitiya Foundation, an organization in New Delhi working to connect descendants of Indian indentured labourers with their ancestral roots and preserve Girmitiya heritage. He is a freelance writer, social worker, and filmmaker, and has produced the short film Girmitiya.
